Having caused a sensation at the Festival in 2023 with BodyBodyBodyBody, Dag Taeldeman and Andrew Van Ostade return with a creation that seeks hope - or at least the possibility of it - in a fractured world where the need for connection is becoming vital. The show is conceived as an hour-long ritual that traverses a multi-layered soundscape inspired by Anna Meredith, David Byrne and Stravinsky, blending techno, opera, guitar riffs and electrifying pulses that beat like a heartbeat throughout the entire work. Dancer Matteo Sedda breathes trance-fueled movement into the performance : dance inhabited by an inner fire, that of hope that persists and is passed on.
Bodybody is a collective founded by musicians and composers Dag Taeldeman and Andrew Van Ostade. Coming from the pop and rock scenes, they compose music together or separately for various theater shows, films and their own creations.
In 2022, they created the acclaimed show bodybodybodybody, a dance and performance concert with dancer Matteo Sedda and soprano Lies Vandewege.
The collective's compositions are both exhilarating and cathartic, blending rock, electronica, pop and classical music. Going against the grain of the short, catchy pop format, they write long works, conceived as musical foundations for dance performances and rituals.
