Is it possible to revive the spirit of a Festival through dance? With Shiraz, Armin Hokmi and his team answer this question with intelligence and sensitivity. Like a sunrise or sunset, this mysterious and captivating work unfolds little by little, revealing new nuances at every turn. Set to vibrant, immersive music, six dancers weave a moving pattern, unrolling and folding like a shared breath. Their fluid trajectories bring them together in ephemeral constellations, emerging from rhythm and connection. With constant attention to the impulses that arise between bodies, Shiraz celebrates the collective work of memory and dance.
Armin Hokmi works in the fields of dance and choreography.
He started out in 2009 as a performer in independent theater in Iran, before moving abroad to experiment with various performative practices and media.
His choreographic language oscillates between the familiarity of known forms and practices that escape recognition, cultivating a horizon where different possibilities of referentiality intersect, alter and confront each other.
