Piñata Cake is a circus-inspired visual, musical and physical performance that plays with illusion and the codes of spectacle. In a constantly revealing scenography, the three protagonists question our expectations, social roles and the artifices of entertainment. Between acting, speaking, silence and acrobatics, the show oscillates between wonder and reflection, providing a sensory, critical and disconcerting experience.
Originally from Auch (France), Gaël Santisteva has been living in Brussels since 2007. A graduate of the CNAC in 2001, he began his career working with companies focused on choreography and theatrical performance. As a performer, Gaël has collaborated with Philippe Decouflé, Jean-Marc Heim, Les Ballets C de la B – Koen Augustijnen, Cie Zimmermann/De Perrot, and Eleanor Bauer. He has also worked as an artistic advisor or assistant director for Benjamin Vandewalle, Mélissa Von Vépy, Eleanor Bauer, Sandrine Juglair, and Lara Barsacq. Gaël created Talk Show (2017), Garcimore est mort (2021), Voie, Voix, Vois (with Saaber Bachir and Antoine Leroy, 2023), and Piñata Cake (2025).
