The acrobat is nothing more than a grown-up child who keeps exploring the full range of their body’s possibilities, in direct contact with matter. The playground: the ring. The starting toys: a Hula Hoop and a wheeled cart. These circus disciplines, blending body and object, give rise to unstable situations that always circle back to a fundamental question of acrobatic lifts: otherness.
By wriggling, pushing, or supporting one another, they discover how “I” and “You” can be built together—through confrontation with the world and with each other.
The company Un loup pour l'Homme, through its practice of acrobatic lifts, has been committed since 2006 to defending a vision of humanity made up of social beings, as different as they are dependent on one another. The result of the encounter between porter Alexandre Fray and acrobat Frédéric Arsenault, the company has put on over 750 performances of its creations: Appris par corps (2006 - Prix Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe), Face Nord (2011), Rare Birds (2017), the revival of Face Nord with an all-female team (2018), Cuir (2020), J'aurai toujours des rêves, maman (Projet Grand-mère) (2021), Dans l'espace (2022) and Passing Swiftly (2023).
