Electric, carnal, visceral: the music of Model/Actriz, described as dancefloor noise by Les Inrocks, doesn't explore, it smashes. After an intense, sexy and dark first album (Dogsbody), the Brooklyn quartet returns with Pirouette, a brighter, more direct work. On stage as on record, Cole Haden's magnetic voice guides this danced catharsis, a fusion of post-punk and club beats. Between twisted glamour and queer vulnerability, the band combines rage and desire in a total, organic performance where the body takes back its rights. In Cinderella, Haden confronts childhood wounds with disarming sincerity. Between violence and grace, each piece is a choreographed battle, where each instrument pushes, pulls, lacerates or supports. With Pirouette, Model/Actriz claim a new freedom: to fully embody their emotions and invite the audience to do the same, in a ferocious, liberating ball.
