Born in the bustling streets of Cairo, forged in a furnace of pride and resistance, Kukii's music rises like a rallying cry, a call to break boundaries. Active since 2015 under the alias Lafawndah, she is one of the most singular and talented artists on the electronic scene. Carried by Eastern influences, incisive rhythms and her incantatory voice, in her new project she celebrates her Egyptian roots by reinterpreting Mahraganat, a protest genre under scrutiny. The first single from her EP, released in March, is an explosion of sound and vision, somewhere between homage and rebellion. Inspired by the urban energy of Cairo, she transforms the street into a dancefloor, imposing her femininity in a male-dominated universe. A fiery pop slap in the face, free, radical and deeply compelling.
