“What is this? Is it me? Is it you? Is it real? Or just… a joke? It’s time we opened the box! (…) No, please, close it. I’m scared.”
In a visual theatre piece as minimalist as it is brilliant, Ariel Doron spins a captivating story using nothing more than a shoebox and… his hand.
A whimsical, tender, and eerie tale about a lonely man trying to connect—with himself and with the world.
Ariel Doron is a puppeteer, director and performer.
His work uses little text and relies heavily on acting to tackle personal, social and political issues. Each project is conceived with the puppetry technique or artistic discipline that suits him best, in a constant desire to explore and question the medium used, while seeking to elicit emotion, reflection and reaction from the audience.
In parallel, he also directs and acts as a consultant on puppet projects, and teaches the art of puppetry and object theater in theaters and art schools around the world.
